CLIENT WORK

EVENT HOST & NEWSCASTER

Time: 1:20:19 Overview: At the start of 2022, I was hired to design a unique virtual give-back experience that would help showcase the amazing culture of my client’s company while also provide them with a source of entertainment for 80-minutes. This film was the end product that was delivered to the client and was met with rave reviews.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE GAME SHOW?

Time: 1:39 Overview: During the Pandemic, one of my clients hired me to produce a virtual game show. To help drive excitement for the event, I interviewed several people from the company about their favorite gameshow and then used the video as a promotional teaser to help drive attendance to the event.

A RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS

Time: 5:21 Overview: One of my greatest honors is to help my clients identify organizations and individuals that are truly in need and then facilitate a financial donation. This was one of my favorite stories of all-time about an amazing lady who is making a real difference in her home country of St. Vincent.

HORIZONS FOR HOMELESS CHILDREN

Time: 2:49 Overview: I designed a custom scavenger hunt that also doubled as a give back experience benefiting one of my all-time favorite charities: Horizons for Homeless Children. Following the event, I partnered with the charity to create this video to help express their gratitude to my client.

SPY NAMES

Time: 1:03 Overview: I make a lot of interstitial videos, or those shown to help break-up the transition between speakers on a stage. My favorite idea is to interview members from the company beforehand so that they can see themselves in the video. For this one I asked people what their “spy name’s” were by combining the name of their First Pet with the name of the Street they grew-up on.

VIDEO SUBMISSION

Time: 3:04 Overview: I was tasked with creating a series of “engaging” videos for people to watch during their company’s virtual awards dinner. So I decided to make the “company award winners” the stars of the show and had them submit their own videos….but to pull it off I needed to give them some instructions, so I made this video to help guide them.

DOPPELGANGER

Time: 2:01 Overview: I interview a lot of people and I always ask a few throw away questions, just to get people’s response. “Whose your celebrity Doppelganger” is one I have asked for years - and one day I decided to turn everyone’s response into a video. It got a lot of laughs and it was a lot of fun to make.

AUCTION

Time: 1:26 Overview: I had a client ask me if I could help promote their internal company auction they were hosting to help raise money for some great charities. As with a lot of the videos I make, I did my best to add elements of humor and excitement to help drive home the message and ensure that the viewer stays engaged for the entirety of the film.

INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEOS

EMOTIONAL NARRATIVE

Time: 2:34 Overview: I have a real passion for designing world-class experiences and one of my favorite events to design are scavenger hunts. In order to orient everyone on the rules of the scavenger hunt, I designed this video and hired one of my favorite narrators to run people through the rules.

STORY TELLING

Time: 4:12 Overview: In the early part of my career, I partnered with St. Jude’s Ranch for Children in Boulder City, NV. In addition to designing a multitude of giveback experiences to help support the ranch, I also scripted, directed, edited and narrated this short film about the ranch’s history.

HUMOROUS TUTORIAL

Time: 7:47 Overview: Back in 2017 I designed a quick tutorial to help the team at R&D Events learn how to install fonts on their computers. Since it was such a boring subject, my goal was to make the video as humorous as possible so that they would actually watch the entire thing.

RULES OF DODGEBALL

Time: 2:43 Overview: This was one of my earliest forays into movie making. The graphics are rough, the green screen is poorly lit, but it was a lot of fun to make and I even got to cast my wife as one of the models. I needed to make this video because we were hosting a 400-person dodgeball tournament and I needed a way to explain the rules to everyone while they were being transported by bus from their host hotel to the venue.

ADVENTURES

MT. SHASTA

Time: 4:25 Overview: Mt. Shasta was a truly miserable mountain to climb and one that resulted in some gnarly blisters and a lifetime of toenail issues, but the views from the summit were amazing and being able to climb a mountain with my buddies was well worth the pain.

GUADALUPE RIVER

Time: 4:19 Overview: Found myself with a few extra days while in Texas, so I treated myself to a 2-day float of the Guadalupe River for a mid-winter paddle along one of Texas’ most scenic waterways.

MT. RAINIER

Time: 3:59 Overview: In 2011, I led a few buddies to the summit of Mt. Rainier via Disappointment Cleaver. It was one of the hardest and most physically taxing experiences of my life, but looking back on it, it was also one of my favorite mountain climbing experiences.

50 MILES ON A PADDLEBOARD

Time: 5:19 Overview: I took full advantage of my time off in 2020 and took dozens of trips. One of my most memorable was a last-minute decision to paddle 50-miles down the Deschutes River in Central Oregon. We had just finished up a family camping trip near the source of the Deschutes, so I told my wife to drop me off and that I would float back to town…3-days later, she picked me up.

MT. WHITNEY

Time: 14:37 Overview: Back in 2007, my buddies and I took a road trip out to the Sierra’s to climb the highest peak in the lower 48 in a day. It was a hell of a feat, but one that was truly worth all of the effort.

12 LAKES, 24 MILES, 24-HOURS

Time: 5:31 Overview: I took all of 2020 off from work and committed myself to a variety of different pursuits, one of them being something I dubbed: “24-hour Challenges”. The goal was to see much could I do in the course of one day. In this challenge, I settled on paddling my SUP on 12 different lakes along the Cascade Lakes Highway, just outside of Bend, OR.

The GRAND CANYON

Time: 2:31 Overview: My buddy Don and I have been on countless trips together, in fact, since 2004, we have gone a trip together every single year. One of our most memorable adventures was our hike to the bottom of the Grand Canyon back in 2016.

THE NEW RIVER

Time: 1:07 Overview: One of first major float trips, was also one of my all-time favorites. The five of us navigated 65-miles along one of the oldest rivers in the world; the New River.

ALL IN THE FAMILY

SMACKDOWN

Time: 0:48 Overview: My youngest son wanted desperately to post a video up on YouTube so that he could share it with his friends. So we came up with wrestling match idea where he lays the smack down on his older brother.

FIRST DAYS OF SCHOOL

Time: 0:26 Overview: We were looking through footage one day and noticed that my oldest and youngest son’s first day of school were almost exactly the same. They went to the same school, wore nearly the exact same thing, and interacted with the room almost identically to each other - 10 years apart.

WEDDING VIDEO ON A PHONE

Time: 6:51 Overview: Let’s call it a miscommunication, but I didn’t realize that I would be the one one filming my brother’s wedding until the day before the nuptials. So with no equipment, I shot the entire thing on my Google Pixel and a GoPro my brother had. I will say, it came out pretty good considering it was almost entirely filmed on the fly…using my phone.

TRICK SHOT

Time: 1:49 Overview: My oldest son is a natural in front of the camera and he loved making movies when he was younger. This is one of my favorites from a few years back.

WICKED WITCH BIKE FAIL

Time: 0:14 Overview: Unbeknownst to me, my family had the camera rolling as they were chasing me back home. What made it better is that they caught me wiping out and depositing my top layer of skin onto the gravel road. Good times.

TYLER’S TRANSFORMING DISHWARE (TTD)

Time: 2:32 Overview: They amount of poise, confidence, patience and resilience my son had making this film (when he was only 11-years-old) still blows me away to this day. He had to memorize pages of a dialogue and worked for nearly 6-hours in front of a green screen in order to make this film come to life. He’s also a pretty dam good salesman.

BED SLED

Time: 0:30 Overview: When you raise a house full of boys, you will inevitably get things like this taking place. So instead of trying to talk some sense into them, I instead decided to film them.

MOUNTAIN BOYS

Time: 0:55 Overview: Backing-up to the land across from my in-laws was a giant cinder pile. Every once and awhile I would take the boys out there to climb and explore the three-story rock piles and even do a few laps up and down the mounds myself.

THE DITCH

Time: 2:36 Overview: I really wanted to use this song for a video so I followed my family out to a place called “The Ditch” for a little canal surfing video session. Back before the wave existed in downtown Bend, the family would sneak off to the irrigation ditch behind our house and everyone would scratch their surfing itch in the water being diverted out to the farmers in Central Oregon.

TRIBUTE

Time: 9:48 Overview: After my grandfather passed, my father wanted to honor his father with a memorial video. So he wrote a script about the man he barely knew, filling it with the awards and accolades his father had achieved - while I dug up a box of cassette tapes filled with footage from a family reunion I actually recorded back when I was 13-years-old. The final tribute was shown to an intimate group of friends and family at a memorial service. When it was over, there wasn’t a dry eye in the place.

OCTOPUS ARM

Time: 0:28 Overview: This video was captured years ago by my boys during a day trip out to Lake Mead. This is one of their all-time favorite clips and their reference to an Octopus arm has been a running joke in our family ever since.

Time: 0:00 Overview: Really cool things about a really cool video that I will upload later.

JUST FOR FUN

15-MINUTES OF FAME

Time: 1:47 Overview: A few years ago, I worked with a guy on an event who told me this crazy story about how he got stranded in the Las Vegas airport overnight and created a video that went viral and racked up over 30M views. I caught up with him a few years later so that I could tell his story.

TALES FROM THE LAKE

Time: 1:36 Overview: One of my buddies told me this crazy story about how a cow wandered into his neighborhood and how he and his neighbors came together to help rescue it. So, I took his story and had it made into an animated short.

EYE SPY

Time: 2:31 Overview: I needed to create a trivia game for a game show I was hosting that revolved around celebrity high school photos. It took a few days to make, and to this day, it is still one of my all time favorite video projects.

FIRST GOAL

Time: 0:21 Overview: One of the kids in our neighborhood was on my son’s soccer team. I happened to be filming their son when he scored his first goal and instead of just sending them the clip, I added a few extra touches to the video.
